So I was wandering around London last weekend and I strolled into one of the Ben Sherman stores. I'm not a massive fan of all of their collections, but I really love the plectrum range so I thought I would check it out. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed they were doing a few select items under the name 'The Icons' where they have asked 5 different iconic designers from the 1960’s to 2000 to design a print to go on their button down shirt. This launched in mid-September and the shirts are limited to 250 per design, hand numbered and priced at £125, with all profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust. I was really impressed by this concept and loved the fact it was raising money for such a good cause. This shirt by Jake & Dinos Chapman really caught my eye, I thought it was really fun and quite a statement piece without being too in your face and garish. So I decided to go for it and this shirt definitely makes it to my shirt of the month for October. Also I was pretty happy to get number 40 / 250! I will be writing another post on the outfit I put together with this shirt, so stay tuned.
Steve.
