My Travel Essentials

August 4th | 2014

I recently took a short trip to Copenhagen with my good friend Jake and I thought I would show you a few of my essential items that I bring with me for a short / weekend trip. Clothes-wise I try to pack as light as I can on short trips and usually try to keep to hand luggage. So I normally pack only 2 pairs of trousers: usually a good pair of jeans and a pair of chinos / smart trousers. Then 1 pair of smart shoes and 1 pair of trainers. The same goes for shirts, 1 smart, 1 casual and weather permitting a short sleeve shirt too. Then you have basics like underwear, shorts and t-shirts.

Now I'm a bit of a geek so I love to always be connected  and that's why my iPad, iPhone and laptop pretty much come everywhere with me. One major thing for me whilst being abroad is data and using my phone for tweeting, Instagrams etc. I'm with O2 and they offer an amazing deal when it comes to using data in Europe, it lets you use all the data you need in a day for £1.99, which I think is brilliant! The amount of  bills I've been stung with in the past when using my phone whilst being in Europe has been terrible, so it's really nice to not have to worry about this any more and use my phone as if I would back home! O2 also have an awesome new app called O2 Travel, which allows you to download TripAdvisor, city guides and maps onto your phone; which is super helpful!

As you know I'm a big fan of music and also a sucker for sound quality, which is why I always bring my Bowers & Wilkins P5 headphones with me when I travel, I have also made a recent investment in the Bose Mini SoundLink; Alfie has one and when I listened to it I  could not believe the sound that came out of this little thing, it blew my mind. (Thanks Alfie :) ) So I had to get one and now it comes on every trip with me. A few others things I've included are my Kiehls Facial Fuel moisturiser, exfoliater and cleanser. I use the moisturiser as it has an SPF of 15 which means I don't have to worry about putting sun cream on after using this. Then I've got my Canon AE-1 film camera, I'm a lot more selective of the images I capture on this and love getting the film processed as it's a nice surprise to see whether you've captured the shot you intended to take. I also always take my digital SLR but as you can see this is not in the images as I used it to take them!

So last by no means least I have reading material, I'm currently reading the Mr Porter paperback which is brilliant and also one of my personal favourites and Cereal Magazine which is definitely worth checking out  too. I will also always bring a notebook and pen with me to write to-do lists and to write down post / videos ideas.

I hope you've enjoy this post and let me know in the comments what a few of your travel essentials are.
