I’m very excited to collaborate with Selfridges for this blog post talking about Men’s Designer Trainers; it’s such an iconic department store, which in my opinion has one of the best curations of luxury and high street brands. It's one of my all time favourite stores and obviously my favourite part is the trainer section which will always be the place I gravitate to. If you’ve never visited and, like me, you’re a massive sneakerhead, I would encourage you to go and check it out. I’ve picked up a number of my favourite pairs up from Selfridges and unlike online drops, you can try on and compare different styles before purchasing.

As I've mentioned to you guys before, Autumn in the UK is my favourite season for styling, and I’ve recently been combining smarter layers of tailoring with my favourite trainer styles. I feel like it tones an outfit down without looking too casual, especially if you need a transitional work to evening outfit.

A couple of the things I’ve learnt over the last few years of investing in footwear is that firstly, don’t get caught up in the hype, so many times I’ve fallen for the raffle and limited edition pieces because I’ve enjoyed the chase of winning those limited edition trainers, but realistically once I’ve received them, I’ve questioned whether I would have purchased them without the challenge of winning them in the raffle. Secondly I would rather invest in one pair of trainers then purchase four pairs that I might not even wear.

I recently picked up these Gucci New Ace Stripe Leather trainers which are a different take on the classic New Ace Bumble Bee design (The first pair of Gucci Trainers I bought). At first I questioned whether the Gucci elastic across the top would be too much, but once I’d tried them on, it was actually the detail I loved about the trainer the most.

A pair of with smart tailored trousers, a black roll neck jumper and denim jacket in my opinion creates a perfect balance of an outfit that I can attend meetings in during the day and head out for an event in the evening too. It encapsulates a smart casual look with a hint of luxury, which is my favourite type of style and and area that I often stick to.

I hope you've enjoyed this collaborative post with Selfridges and make sure you check out the designer trainers online.

As always, leave me a comment below I'd love to hear your thoughts.
