48hrs in Monaco

June 5th | 2014

I was invited to travel out to Monaco with my girlfriend Alexia by Infiniti Europe; though our trip was short it was filled with everything you would want from a country that is famous for its Grand Prix, yachts and luxury lifestyle.

We landed on the Friday afternoon and after being dropped off to our hotel in an Infiniti we explored the little town called Èze where we were based. The town is slightly outside of Monaco but we found a great cliff-side restaurant for lunch where we enjoyed great views of the coast line and amazing food! On our journey to dinner we travelled in our Infiniti along part of the race track itself , it was an awesome feeling to think that in less than 24 hours the Formula 1 cars would be on the very same road. In the evening we ate dinner at the Blue Bay restaurant which is part of the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, the food was a great mix of modern Mediterranean cuisine.

At around ten we travelled to the Infiniti Podium Lounge which was held in a club called Zelos. We had a such a great time at the party and it definitely launched the Grand Prix weekend in style with some incredible music that everyone who attended danced the night away to. The morning after I jumped in a helicopter to take a look at Monaco from the air; it was my first time flying in one and though I was anxious before  I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I've had and I managed to take some great shots of Monaco from the air too.

Once my feet were back on the ground we headed to the Grand Stand to watch the Qualifying Sessions. It was such an exhilarating sound to hear the cars starting but not being able to see them, you could hear them getting closer and closer until they finally came round the corner right by where we were seated. I never appreciated how fast the cars go until I saw them race past us, it was extremely exciting. After the qualifying sessions ended we then travelled back to the airport to catch our flight home.

Thank you to Infiniti for inviting us out to experience the luxury world of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend it's definitely a trip we won't forget.

Have any of you ever been to Monaco or even to any other Grand Prix? What did you think?
